Do we ever learn
We have everything at our disposal: internet, satellite radio, 200 gazillion TV stations every print medium man has produced and still acting like we see and hear nothing around us, from our neighborhood to the entire globe. and to top it all off we never even learn from the horrible mistakes of the past. Even a chimpanzee learns from roting and repeating. Are we any less or have we been "properly" conditioned not to learn. We go to war under the same pretexts and every time we pay a huge price in terms of human life and damages to the livelihood of everyone, of course except the opulent super rich who use war as the means to augment their extravagant wealth, and yet we rally again under the same jingoistic rhetorics and propaganda, at least most of us do, in favor of war. Seriously, when will we ever learn to distinguish between wrong and right and fight against ignorance and greed? I am beginning to accept this as our intrinsic nature to repeat every thing as if it were the first time and despite the similar results experience it as if it were the first time also. An attack on Iran seems likely and I hope I am wrong this time about my earlier assessment. I hope we learn from our past at least once in a while. I guess one can dream the improbable.
