Auditions for Young Actors, Singers, and Creative Writers for Next Actors: Summer Theatre for Teens
Next Act Theatre is looking for creative and motivated students to audition for Next Actors: Summer Theatre for Teens, an intensive summer theatre seminar.The curriculum is a six-week performance and creative writing program offered free of charge to 22 Milwaukee area teenagers, from June 16 thru July 26, 2008. Under the guidance of adult teaching artists, the teens invited to participate will write, rehearse and tour Milwaukee with an original hour-long musical theatre piece. This program is now in its tenth year.
Audition/interviews will be held for NEXT ACTORS on Saturday, May 3, 10am – 1pm by appointment only. Those interested should prepare a monologue to perform a few simple bars of music to sing without accompaniment. Monologues will also be available to read on site. Music can be a song from pop culture, a musical, “Happy Birthday” or a nursery rhyme.
